1. Promoter

The promoter of the NRG Solar Charity Solar Initiative ("Initiative") is National Renewable Group Pty Ltd, trading as NRG Solar ("NRG Solar" or "Promoter"), South Australia.

2. Initiative

NRG Solar is giving an eligible South Australian charity the opportunity to receive a donated and professionally installed (up to) 15kW solar system, with a total prize value of approximately $14,500 (including GST).

The Initiative is a merit-based selection process. The successful organisation will be selected based on the judging criteria set out in these Terms and Conditions and will not be selected randomly or by chance.

3. Promotional Period

Applications open at 4pm on August 31^st 2026 and close at 5pm on 16^th September 2026.

Applications received outside the Promotional Period will not be considered.

NRG Solar may extend the application period where reasonably necessary and will publish any updated closing date on the Initiative landing page.

4. Eligibility

To be eligible to apply, an organisation must:

• be a registered charity or eligible not-for-profit organisation operating in South Australia;

• operate from premises located in South Australia;

• be authorised to apply on behalf of the organisation;

• provide a recent electricity bill for the proposed installation site;

• provide a clear and current photograph of the site's meter box;

• provide all information requested in the application form;

• have authority to approve the installation of solar at the nominated premises, or be able to obtain written approval from the property owner;

• have a site that NRG Solar determines is technically and structurally suitable for the proposed solar installation; and

• be available to complete all necessary approvals, assessments and installation requirements within the timeframe specified by NRG Solar.

Employees and immediate family members of NRG Solar and employees directly involved in administering or judging the Initiative are not eligible to enter on behalf of an organisation.

NRG Solar reserves the right to verify the eligibility and charitable/not-for-profit status of any applicant.

5. How to Apply

Eligible organisations must complete the official online application form during the Promotional Period.

Applicants will be required to:

• provide their organisation and contact details;

• nominate the South Australian premises where the solar system would be installed;

• upload a recent electricity bill for the nominated site;

• upload a clear photograph of the site's meter box; and

• Answer the following three questions in 250 words or less:

  1. Tell us about your organisation and the community you support. (100 words or less)
  2. What would reduced electricity costs mean for your organisation? (100 words or less)
  3. Is there anything else we should know about your site or circumstances? (50 words or less, optional)

There is no fee to submit an application.

Only one application per organisation/site will be considered unless otherwise approved by NRG Solar.

6. Selection Process

This Initiative is a judged, merit-based selection and is not a random prize draw.

Following the closing date, eligible applications will be reviewed by a judging panel comprising members of the NRG Solar leadership team.

Applications will be assessed against the following criteria:

• 40% - Potential financial and operational impact: the extent to which reduced electricity costs could benefit the organisation;

• 30% - Community impact: how the organisation supports the South Australian community and how solar could help it further that work;

• 20% - Demonstrated need and suitability: the organisation's circumstances, energy requirements and potential benefit from the system; and

• 10% - Quality and completeness of application: the clarity and completeness of the information provided.

Technical and site suitability requirements are separate eligibility requirements and may be assessed before or after judging.

The judging panel will select the organisation whose application best satisfies the judging criteria.

The judges' decision is final, subject to applicable law, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding scoring or the outcome of the judging process.

7. Site Assessment

Selection as the preferred recipient is subject to a satisfactory site assessment by NRG Solar.

NRG Solar may assess factors including:

• available and suitable roof space;

• roof condition and structural suitability;

• roof orientation and shading;

• existing electrical infrastructure;

• any existing solar system installed at the site;

• switchboard and meter configuration;

• grid connection requirements;

• safe installation access;

• applicable network or regulatory approvals;

• property ownership and landlord approval where applicable; and

• whether the proposed 15kW system can be safely and practically installed within the required timeframe.

If the preferred recipient's site is determined by NRG Solar to be unsuitable, or the required approvals cannot reasonably be obtained within the required timeframe, NRG Solar may select the next highest-ranked eligible applicant.

Where network approval is refused, delayed beyond the installation timeframe, or granted subject to conditions that materially affect the proposed system, NRG Solar may reduce the size of the system, vary its configuration, or select another eligible applicant.

Where the nominated premises are leased, selection remains subject to written landlord consent being obtained and maintained. If that consent is refused or withdrawn at any time before installation is completed, NRG Solar may select another eligible applicant.

8. The Prize

The successful organisation will receive one solar package with a total retail value of approximately $14,500 including GST.

The package is intended to include:

• a solar photovoltaic system of approximately and up to 15kW;

• a Fronius inverter;

• Trina Solar panels;

• applicable mounting/racking equipment;

• system design;

• standard installation by NRG Solar's Adelaide-based solar installation team;

• commissioning of the completed system; and

• Aftercare and Technical Support: NRG Solar will provide local technical support for the installed solar system for the duration of the applicable warranty periods. This support is intended to assist with system-related technical enquiries, troubleshooting and applicable warranty matters. It does not include routine servicing, maintenance, cleaning, repairs outside warranty coverage, or other chargeable on-site works. Specific product models, quantities and system configuration will be determined by NRG Solar based on available stock, site requirements, electrical design and technical suitability.

NRG Solar may substitute a component with an equivalent or better product where the specified product becomes unavailable or cannot reasonably be installed at the selected site.

The Prize cannot be exchanged for cash, credit or another product or service and cannot be transferred to another organisation or installation address without NRG Solar's written approval.

Where NRG Solar determines that the site supports a system smaller than 15kW, the Prize will be the system NRG Solar determines is suitable for that site. No cash, credit, additional goods or services are payable in respect of any difference in value.

9. Standard Installation

The Prize includes a standard commercial solar installation as determined by NRG Solar following site assessment.

If the installation requires substantial additional work outside the standard installation scope, including significant switchboard upgrades, structural works, asbestos remediation, major network works, civil works, roof replacement or other unusual site-specific requirements, NRG Solar will discuss these requirements with the selected organisation before proceeding.

NRG Solar is not required to provide works outside the stated Prize unless it agrees to do so in writing.

If additional works make the installation impractical or materially change the scope of the Initiative, NRG Solar may determine that the site is unsuitable and select another eligible organisation.

10. Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs)

To the extent that the installed system is eligible to create Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) under the applicable Australian Government scheme, the successful organisation agrees that the rights associated with the creation and assignment of those STCs will be assigned to NRG Solar or its nominated agent.

NRG Solar will be entitled to receive and retain the financial benefit associated with those STCs.

The successful organisation agrees to complete and sign any reasonable documentation required to enable the creation, assignment or transfer of the applicable STCs to NRG Solar or its nominated agent.

The advertised approximate Prize value of $14,500 including GST takes into account the applicable STC benefit being assigned to and retained by NRG Solar.

For clarity, the approximate Prize value of $14,500 including GST is the value of the installed system received by the successful organisation. The successful organisation is not entitled to any payment or additional benefit in respect of the STCs assigned to NRG Solar.

Where NRG Solar determines that the proposed installation is not eligible to create STCs, or that the STC benefit available is materially less than anticipated, NRG Solar may reassess the suitability of the site and may select another eligible applicant.

11. Installation Timeframe

The selected organisation must reasonably cooperate with NRG Solar to enable the system to be installed within the campaign installation timeframe.

The current target is for installation to occur during October 2026 with installation required to be completed by 31 October 2026 subject to site suitability, approvals, weather, stock availability and circumstances outside NRG Solar's reasonable control.

If the selected organisation cannot reasonably facilitate installation within the required timeframe, NRG Solar may offer the Prize to another eligible applicant.

12. Notification and Announcement

The selected organisation will be contacted using the contact details supplied in its application.

The organisation must respond within two business days of being notified unless NRG Solar agrees to a longer period.

The selected organisation may be publicly announced by NRG Solar and through campaign partner FIVEAA.

NRG Solar may withhold the public announcement until the organisation's eligibility and site suitability have been confirmed.

13. Publicity and Media

By accepting the Prize, the selected organisation agrees to reasonably participate in promotional activities associated with the Initiative.

This may include:

• photography and video at the organisation's premises;

• interviews with NRG Solar and FIVEAA;

• announcement of the selected organisation on radio;

• social media content;

• website content;

• media releases;

• photographs and video of the installation; and

• a follow-up story about the impact of the solar installation. 

NRG Solar will work with the selected organisation regarding reasonable timing and privacy considerations before undertaking promotional activity at the organisation's premises.

Any identifiable individual featured in promotional material will be subject to appropriate consent requirements.

14. Campaign Partners

The Initiative may be supported by participating campaign and supply partners, which may include FIVEAA, Fronius, Trina Solar, Schletter and other participating suppliers.

Participation by a campaign partner does not make that organisation the promoter unless expressly stated otherwise.

Final partner participation and product supply remain subject to confirmation and availability.

15. Information Provided by Applicants

Applicants are responsible for ensuring the information provided in their application is accurate and complete.

NRG Solar may request additional information reasonably required to:

• verify eligibility;

• assess an application;

• undertake technical assessment;

• confirm property ownership or installation authority; or

• determine whether the proposed installation is suitable.

NRG Solar may exclude an application containing information that is materially false, misleading, incomplete or unable to be verified.

16. Privacy

Personal information collected as part of the Initiative will be used by NRG Solar for purposes including:

• administering the Initiative;

• assessing applications;

• contacting applicants;

• arranging site assessments;

• determining the successful organisation;

• arranging installation; and

• administering agreed promotional activities.

Information may be disclosed to NRG Solar's contractors, installers, professional advisers and participating campaign partners where reasonably required to administer the Initiative.

Information will otherwise be handled in accordance with NRG Solar's applicable privacy practices and Australian privacy law.

Contacting unsuccessful applicants

NRG Solar will notify unsuccessful applicants of the outcome of the Initiative.

That notification may include an invitation to contact NRG Solar for a no-obligation discussion about the applicant's energy use, including the electricity bill provided with their application. Applicants are under no obligation to respond, and whether an applicant responds has no bearing on the assessment of their application.

NRG Solar will add applicants to its marketing lists as a result of applying. Where an applicant chooses to contact NRG Solar following the outcome, their information will be handled in accordance with NRG Solar's privacy practices and they may ask NRG Solar to stop contacting them at any time.

17. Changes or Cancellation

NRG Solar may modify, suspend or cancel the Initiative where circumstances outside its reasonable control make it necessary to do so, subject to applicable law.

Where reasonably practicable, NRG Solar will publish notice of any material change on the Initiative landing page.

NRG Solar will not make changes to the judging process that unfairly disadvantage applicants who have already submitted an application.

If no eligible applicant has a site that NRG Solar determines to be suitable, NRG Solar may extend the application period or, acting reasonably, determine that no recipient will be selected under the Initiative.

18. Liability

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NRG Solar will not be responsible for loss arising from circumstances outside its reasonable control, including delays caused by network approvals, extreme weather, supply interruptions or site conditions that could not reasonably have been identified before assessment.

19. Acceptance of Terms

By submitting an application, the applicant confirms that:

• they are authorised to submit the application on behalf of the organisation;

• the information provided is true and accurate to the best of their knowledge; and

• the organisation agrees to these Terms and Conditions.

Acceptance of the Prize is also subject to the successful organisation entering into any reasonable installation, grid connection, STC assignment and other documentation required for NRG Solar to complete the installation.

20. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of South Australia.

Applicants submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of South Australia and any courts entitled to hear appeals from those courts.
